We offer a range certification and verification services designed to match your objectives and business needs.
Whether you are interested in using our internationally recognised Carbon Labels to communicate the results of your carbon footprinting work to your customers, or you need independent verification of the carbon footprints of your products and services to underpin your supply chain carbon management or performance tracking on carbon reduction, we have a service which will meet your needs.
Our main certification and verification services are summarised below.
Carbon Reduction Label
Our premium offer allows you to use the Carbon Trust’s internationally recognised Carbon Reduction Label, on and off products, to communicate your carbon reduction commitment and achievements to your customers. We offer certification against PAS 2050 and/or the WRI/WBCSD GHG Protocol Product Standard. Carbon Reduction Label certification requires conformity with supplementary requirements in the Footprint Expert TM Guide and the Code of Good Practice. Use of the Carbon Reduction Label also requires re-certification every two years, when it must be demonstrated that the carbon footprint of a certified product or service has reduced. Carbon Label
Our new complementary labelling offer allows you to use the established ‘Working With The Carbon Trust’ version of the Carbon Label, recognising your achievements in measuring the carbon footprint of your products or services. Carbon Label certification can be offered against PAS 2050 and/or the WRI/WBCSD GHG Protocol Product Standard. Certified carbon footprints must also meet the requirements set out in the Footprint Expert TM Guide and the Code of Good Practice. Use of the Carbon Label enables you to communicate the carbon footprint of your products or services - with or without the certified footprint numbers. It does not require a commitment to carbon reduction. However, the label cannot be used to communicate a commitment to reduce or actual carbon reductions achieved. Other Certification Services
We also offer a range of certification and verification services, based on PAS 2050 and the WRI/WBCSD GHG Protocol Product Standard, that do not include use of our Carbon labels but still provide independent assurance of your carbon footprint claims, with a range of communication options . For instance, you could choose PAS 2050 only certification, with limited assurance, for product carbon footprint performance tracking for your internal use only. A further example would be WRI/WBCSD GHG Protocol Product Standard certification, with reasonable assurance, to support public claims about your measurement of the carbon footprint of your products, thereby enhancing your corporate reputation through public disclosure of the results.
